Videoblog and shows!

17 nov

Some images of the livingroom concerts we did! Of course it’s not One Trick Pony but Tree Like Fun, but it gives a nice  impression of how the shows were!

And if you’d like to see me play some time soon; next week (Thursday 24 -11) I’ll be playing in the Vestzak Theater in Enschede for free. There will be more songwriters playing their songs!
http://www.hetvestzaktheater.nl/agenda/artikel/mooie-liedjes-5/ click the link for more information.

And if you’re living more up north, on Friday the 9th of December I’ll be playing in Leeuwarden as pre-act for Rue Royale. http://www.podiumasteriks.nl/archive/2011/07/31/rue-royale
How nice is that! :)

Awesome weekend

25 okt

Finally! The first livingroom concerts have been performed and were (if I say so myself) a great succes! I’ve come to this conclusion by getting enthusiastic replies of visitors, and by having an awesome time myself! Can’t wait til the next ones, probably in December!

Too bad, due to lack of reservations for the concert in Leeuwarden, we had to cancel that one. But Leeuwarden; we’ll be back!

For some photo’s made in Groningen click this. Shot by IJsbrand Kroondijk, thanks Burn :)
We also video recorded all the shows, I’ll be sure to put  some of it online.

At the moment I’m really busy with Tree Like Fun and the living room concerts, but I’m also still writing new songs!
And I’ll be playing at the Mooie Liedjes avond 24-november in het Vestzaktheater in Enschede.

This week we’re free from school, which means fun stuff.. and lots of school.. Ah well!

Livingroom concerts

23 sep

Hi all!

Long time no blog and other lame jokes. I have been so busy with my study, which is annoying in some way, but since what I’m studying is nice; it’s fine! Making music and learning stuff about it, it sounds lame maybe, but it’s just really cool most of the time.

At school we’re getting the chance (and well, we have to, to get our points) to start your own projects. My project is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now: organizing and performing my own livingroomconcerts! Only in the Netherlands of course, at least for now ;-)

So exciting! And so much stuff to think about, since I’m not playing alone. I’m bringing a few of my classmates, so there are 3 acts every concert.

Also, another project I’m doing is with a fellow singersongwriter, classmate and friend Tineke Hussaarts. We’re a duo! We’ve already wrote 1 song, and working on the second.
We’ve got big plans and we’re having lots of fun with what we’re doing, working together.
So, since I’m also still working on my own stuff, 0neTrickPony and I’m certainly not stopping with that, some Livingroomconcerts will be with Tineke and I as a duo (we’re still brainstorming about our name) and some concerts will be with Tineke her own songs, and me as 0neTrickPony.

I will make a page for putting on all the information I can give about the Livingroomconcerts. So you can read all about it. And about the performing artists.
The first concerts will be on 21, 22 and 23 October, if I get 3 Livingrooms that is ;-) but for now everything seems to go as planned.
All information will be on the page (coming soon) and if you’re already so curious you can’t possibly wait any longer (or to maybe sign up your own livingroom!), you could mail me at: fleuronetrickpony@gmail.com

I am really looking forward to my projects! But for this weekend I have yet another big project.. I’m moving to a new house, where I’ll be living with 2 of my classmates.

Love from a room full of boxes and bags and suitcases and garbagebags,
Fleur

Oh ps! I’ve done a few living room concerts in the past few years, here’s a video of one of them, to illustrate how much fun it can be :) it’s so nice to be so close and so personal with the people you’re playing for, I’ve always found it to be a really amazing experience.

So much time, so little to do

26 aug

Believe you me, I try to write as often as possible. But there’s just nothing happening worth writing about here. My holiday is almost over, I’ll be going back to Enschede next week, first real school week will be the week after that. And I’m looking forward to it! Especially since I am going to move to a house with roomies! At the moment (and last year) I’m in a room where I’m the only one in the house.. so boring and a little bit lonely from time to time.

I don’t know if anyone reading this remembers te mask? I wore it in my first.. 2/3 videos? I was scared of people making comments on how I looked, calling me ugly or anything like that. And I was scared of being recognized!
I never told my family I uploaded videos (they didn’t even know I was writing songs :-)) but after a while one of my sisters (I have 3, I’m the youngest) found out and emailed everybody. In the end it wasn’t as bad as I imagined.
And nobody ever really called me ugly or anything. Somebody once said my songs were verbal diarrhea though.. but I found that very amusing.

If I don’t have any news in the next few weeks I think I’ll write something about the very first song I ever wrote. It’s better than nothing right? :-)

Love,
Fleur

ps. I write almost daily on my other blog but, man, that shit really is verbal diarrhea ;-)

Have a nice weekend!

Paper puppets and nuclear bombs

9 aug

Between working an blogging I am cutting things out of paper, and knotting bracelets. And I am busy with a new song of course! :-)

Today it’s 66 years ago they dropped the bombs on Hiroshima (ok 3 days and 66 years) and Nagasaki. It’s something that always interested and at the same time repulsed me. It’s a bit of an reblog of my blogspot but I still wanted to post here about it also. I wrote Mushrooms after having a dream I had, a dream which I think I got after reading this interview; Dutch or English. One of the most impressive interviews I ever read.

I think my opinion about those bombs is pretty clear in Mushrooms, so I won’t bother letting it all out here. You could read the lyrics in the new page I made though! :)
Just click “Lyrics” in the bar on the main page, and scroll down almost til the end for Mushrooms.

I’m going to watch “Uit de kast” (Coming out) a programma about.. yes! People coming out. :)

Love,
Fleur

Regina Spektor

1 aug

I was at this show. It was so amazing. It was the show that actually got me to play at Lowlands, but that’s a wholly different story. I love this song, I love Regina Spektor and everything she ever wrote and probably everything that she’s going to write. She’s the one artist I think I’ll never get bored of. And she’s the one that actually made me want to start taking piano lessons, and write on the piano. So I guess this means I’m a ‘psychotic-fan-stalker-person’, or at least that I come across like one, but I am really very sane.

I just really admire her for what she makes and the way she expresses her opinion and tells beautiful, sometimes sad, stories.

If you don’t know her yet, take a listen! Mmkey back to normal person. Maybe watch some Indiana Jones after a day of working, swimming and cycling.

It’s in the air / it’s on the road

28 jul

Nothing to say music-wise! Just wanted to let the internetz know I am still alive and had a great time. Though, anybody following me on any other social media shite, I mean, site, will probably know that already, and miss the time when I was without my laptop. Well not to worry, I will be gone for most of the weekend, of to Amsterdam to meet my lovely friends Rosa and Sarah. And do lots of reading while I’m on my way to them hopefully! I am a real bookworm, especially in the holidays, I can’t not have a book with me, so I am constantly looking for new ones. Today my hunting trip rewarded  me with Margaret Atwood (cat’s eye & the edible woman) and Daniel Defoe (Robinson Crusoe of course!) never read anything of neither (or is this a double negative?) so I am curious about the books.

I am off to bed, have a nice day.

Love,
Fleur
